The Inside Story

The smooth blue with fades and sparkles…

This incredible looking watch dates to 1977, the year the quickset Day-Date was introduced to the market; making this is one of the earliest examples. These watches can be set without having to manually scroll through the days and dates and also have a sapphire crystal. The case is in really outstanding condition, with fat lugs. We really love the smooth bezel on this watch, which gives the watch a less formal look than the fluted bezel – this would look really cool on a leather strap or even a Single Pass ! The watch houses a rare ‘dégradé’ dial, which is black at the outer edge and fades to a vibrant blue at the centre. The dial is further enhanced with baguette-cut diamonds at 6 and 9 and the rest of the hour markers are set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The hands are the correct non-lume variety and this cool DD is fitted with an English day disc. The good condition President bracelet has a non-concealed clasp and is in fantastic condition. This Day-Date has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
