The Inside Story

The Dark Chocolate Ed White Speedy

The reference 105.003 Speedmaster has a special historical significance, as it was the reference worn by Ed White during his space walk. In 1965, during the Gemini 4 mission, Ed White became the first American to conduct a spacewalk. Collectors now refer to the reference 105.003 as the Ed White Speedy. The Ed White is the last of the straight lug watches and this case is in exceptionally good condition as is the rest of the watch. The dial is in great condition and has the correct TSWISST markings, lack of Professional text and long hour markers, which have taken on a nice patina.
As topping of the icecake: it is brown! Yes.. dark chocolate brown is popping when the sun hits that beauty.

The bezel is the correct and rare ‘dot over 90’ (DON) version in honest, original condition. The watch is accompanied by an archive extract that confirms it was delivered to Germany in 1967. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.

This watch is accompanied by a true collector item which was hand selected by Bernhard himself. An original late 60s model kit from the Gemini Mission that rounds up this collectors set. You can read the full story in the latest chapter of the „Back to the roots: An Omega journey with Bernhard“ series HERE
