The Original Racing Speedy

We collaborated with Kaufmann, one of the manufacturer of these exact racing leather straps that were sold on the Speedmaster in the 60/60s, combining the original tools and craftmanship with our vibes. To honor and recreate this awesome design we selected the finest dark brown calf skin with the exact tiny bit of gloss to give rise to the perfect sports watch heritage.

The complementary 16 mm Swiss made buckle is accompanied by the ‘Easy-Change’  system, which features an integrated spring bar that allows changing watch straps in seconds.

Care instruction

Our leather straps are made of all-natural vegetable tanned leather. There is no chemical coating or waxing on top, which is why they are so very soft and comfortable. This natural quality also causes aging of the leather by sunlight and everyday wear. Every strap gets its own individual patina, which is something we love. Please don’t treat the leather with oil or wax as it ruins the whole nature of the strap. This also comes with a warning: avoid direct contact with water, as it may cause stains. So don’t wear your strap in the shower or when swimming and be cautious of heavy rain or perspiration. We recommend not wearing the strap in the gym.

Installation advice

We advice using a high quality spring bar for installation of our straps. Especially with newer watches, the gap between the case or bezel and the spring bar may be more narrow than on older pieces. To avoid scratches on the leather, we advise you to treat the strap carefully and without force when installing it on your watch. If it does not seem to fit at all, you might need curved spring bars or a different watch strap altogether. If you're unsure about this, feel free to consult with us before placing your order.

Seems a bit loose? Here’s why

As vegetable tanned leather tends to shrink a bit when worn, all our leather watch straps are intentionally designed with a tiny bit more width to prevent them from feeling or looking too small after some wearing. When first installed with your watch, the strap might appear a bit snug – but after a while, it will stretch and fit perfectly between the lugs. For Bulang and Sons, this is a mark of quality and proof of our traditional and natural approach.

Racing Strap at it’s Vintage best

Shortly before even selling the watch - because I was not happy with original bracelet - I ordered that nice 19mm strap for my Trulogy Speedy that has some brownish Fauxtina - now the watch is a keeper.

So much charm, so well made

All watch lovers, especially the vintage connoisseurs, know a good strap can change the overall experience you have with a watch. While often this is a great idea, too often it’s optimising a colour combination.
This strap is different, it has so much personality it takes your watch to a whole new level. I had regular, non-watch fans, complimenting me on my watch when I was wearing my Speedy on this strap.
If it’s in stock, go for it, you won’t regret it. Quality is also great and the quick release system makes it practical to change.
Great on a many sporty Omegas (Speedmaster, Camaro,…), or a Seiko chronograph, all Serica models… so sports watches, preferably chronos.

Beautiful strap

Beautiful strap in top quality that goes perfect with my speedmaster. I hate it when straps are to long so I ordered the short version. My wrist is 16,5cm and unfortunatly the strap was a bit to short to fit well.
