Breitling Chronomat Rare reference 769 Black Dial

A smart watch that wears its patent with pride…

This is a very rare example of the iconic Chronomat reference 769 with a non-luminous black dial that features “+217012”, the patent number that was granted to Breitling for its dial-based slide rule with two scales - the outer of which had an anticlockwise read direction. This really was the first smart watch! The dial remains in beautiful original condition – we love the pop of the inner most red printed scale. The case is in outstanding condition, with strong lugs and a crisp, original rare bezel. The case has a snap-on caseback with square chronograph pushers. The caseback features a personal engraving that reads “To Lee My Best Love Syd”. The manual wind movement is a Breitling modified Venus calibre 175 that has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
